Senator Cleave Simpson Interview

He's my favorite legislator (I explain why in the intro)

Ok, if you want a really good high-level understanding of all the ways water impacts this state - this is the interview. And if you don’t want that, you should. Water is by far the most significant resource constraint in this state.

He also discussed healthcare, and specifically the need for better behavioral health1 support. He was thrown into this with his first committee assignment and had a gigantic learning curve. And he stepped up. He’s emblematic of a lot of our legislators that need to become knowledgeable on subjects that are new to them - and put in the time & effort to learn.

We ended with a discussion of energy in the state, especially around solar, batteries, and transmission lines to move solar power from the solar farm to where it’s needed.

Great interview.

By behavioral health, he means something much broader than the usual use of that term.
