Robert is a major blogger up in Vermont. At the suggestion of The Electric Grandma we got together to discuss some items of common interest.
The first was TABOR. Vermont is a very Republican state where the legislature keeps increasing spending over the rate of inflation year after year. So they’re very jealous of our TABOR limitations.
I went through a number of the issues we have with the way TABOR is structured. Not in opposition to the concept of asking the voters, but definitely in opposition to the way TABOR plays out.
We then jumped over to discussing electricity. Vermont is going in a direction that’s even dumber than Colorado. They shut down a nuclear plant that was in great shape. And they’re working to shut down purchasing hydro power from Quebec.
So when we complain about the tunnel vision of Governor Polis, the PUC, & the CEO just remember - it could be worse.
