• Update: Will has provided studies showing that Wind + Gas backup does not emit more CO2 than just gas. Here’s my review of the below studies.

  • Marginal greenhouse gas emissions displacement of wind power in Great Britain

• He stated that Wind + Gas backup provides cheaper electricity than just gas. I’ve run the numbers and… no.

• He stated that we’re not going to use batteries in significant numbers. Definitely the right approach.

• He stated that coal is being replaced with gas. This is accurate and a very good thing.

• He said that Wind and Solar are complementary with Wind blowing more at night. I showed that this was incorrect in the podcast - click here if you want to see this on the eia website.

• He said HB25-1040 is unneeded as the existing law does not constrain Nuclear except for county issued bonds.
